It is the last week of camp and as sad as we are to say goodbye to all our campers, we are in for a fun, creative week!
On Monday, we had a puppet show in the morning & worked on our own paper puppets!
Tuesday, the Minds in Motion folks come by to expand our brains with a workshop called Design and Conquer!
Getting creative is a necessity when you have limited materials, and this couldn't apply more than it does in this building activity. Campers are split into groups of 3 or 4, each assigned one material. Using only their material, they will need to build three separate items, each created by them to solve the three challenges they were assigned. Out-of-the-box thinking is fundamental in everyday life, and we will teach them how to structure that creativity through a portion of the engineering design process, formulating their designs, prototyping, and presenting to the group how their design works at the end if they wish to do so. We are looking forward to seeing what they come up with, and we hope they are ready to tackle whatever comes their way by building with pipe cleaners, paper, or plastic cups.
Wednesday's a colder day so we're embracing it with a daytime Slumber Party, wearing PJs, watching a movie and having a dance party indoors!
On Thursday, we'll be stretching our creative muscles with sketching and making our own board games.
And Friday (the very last day of camp!), it's a Splash Park morning with a Music Performance in the afternoon!
We hope you had an amazing summer with us, everyone! Hope to see you around Triwood at our community events, too.
