Incredible inventors Week (6) at Triwood Summer Camp

Updated: Aug 9

We welcome the campers back after the long weekend to a fun-filled, hands-on week of problem-solving challenges and collaborative projects!

On Tuesday we welcomed the Minds in Motion folks to help us cross the gap into civil engineering as campers embark on a bridge building journey! Participants applied their learning through a hands-on building challenge and test their creations for both strength and useability, and built bridges sturdy enough to hold weight - quite a few bags of rocks, in fact!

The H2OhNo workshop introduced kids to the world of water conservation in a few fun activities, teaching them about the importance of a clean environment. They crafted their own water filtration devices to understand how we make water drinkable and clean out pollutants. We learned how to help make our world a cleaner place!

On Wednesday and Thursday, we'll build and test out bottle rockets and balloon race cars and see which ones go the fastest, and host an egg-drop contest to find out who can build the best egg protector.

And a science workshop on Friday morning to end off our inventive week, we spark curiosity into electrical engineering with circuit bugs! Participants will learn what

electricity is, how humans use it, and the basics of a circuit. They will then use their

knowledge to create their very own light up bug to take home!

And off to the splash park in the afternoon! We hope you had a great week with us, everyone!
